Question: when you use your current flat iron, do you try to shteigrtan all at once, or in small sections? Best results come from separating hair out into sections about two inches wide that are relatively thin (as in, a small layer of hair). If it’s all at once, then the problem is more trying to shteigrtan too much at one time, and if you do section your hair off first, then I would agree it might be time to get a new flat iron. For thick hair, I would suggest trying a ceramic flat iron, as they tend to retain heat better. Chi makes very nice irons, though they are very pricey. On a cheaper spectrum, Conair makes decent quality beauty appliances, though I’ve found they don’t last for more than a few years at best. Just remember that when price comes up, you are paying for quality. Not everything that is cheap is poorly made, but not everything that is expensive is high quality, either. Look at prices as a guideline rather a deciding factor on if it is a good product or not. I would suggest searching flat irons on amazon and maybe reading a few of the customer reviews on products to see what people that already have specific irons have to say about them. That would also be a good way to make sure you get the one you want just give the link to whomever would be purchasing so there aren’t any mistakes in purchasing.As for cheap places to get your hair done I don’t know what area that you live in, but you could always do what I do when moving to a new location pull out the phone book and call around. I tend to aim for the mid- to higher-range salons, but it could work the same with trying to find a cheaper place. Call and ask for a price quote on what you want done to your hair.
