“I’ve got a sort of A.D.D. when it comes to what I find exciting,” says 19-year-old dubstep prodigy Porter Robinson. “It’s all about staying fresh, staying new, staying constant.” Despite performing live for only a little more than a year, Porter has already taken the stage at festivals like the Electric Daisy Carnival, Ultra Music Festival and Electric Zoo. He’s also inked a deal with Skrillex’s new OWSLA label, remixed a Lady Gaga song and even toured with Tiësto on his College Invasion Tour. Robinson’s debut EP Spitfire is an experiment into the dark realms of the EDM genre, ranging from a brief forte in moombahton in “100% In The Bitch,” electro-house in “Vandalism” (featuring vocals from Australian singer/songwriter Amba Shepherd ) and a speaker-bursting, wompy dubstep breakdown in “The State.” “Electronic music is going to change in ways we’ve never seen before,” Porter prophesizes. “And I think it’s here to stay.”
